Mr. Shawn is a member of the Jamaica Fisherman Cooperative Union and has served on its board of directors as vice-chairman and chairman. He has played a leading role in lobbying and advocacy for the interests of the artisanal fishing sector in relation to the setting of aggregate taxes. He also has extensive experience in the marketing of fishing inputs as well as in the direct sale of fish. He currently chairs the Treasure Beach Fisher Folks subsidiary in St. Elizabeth.
